Just as I thought I had no more to give,
you walked back into my life.
An acquaintance more than a friend,
I knew you from around.
A night planned with friends and family,
little did I know what was awaiting.
Many years have passed since I've seen you,
then as a friend... now as more.
The second our eyes met, the second we spoke,
a connection was made.
Life keeps showering me with surprises,
few have disappointed me, most have not.
This time is different in so many ways,
it really is, really.
