We can hardly believe it. Bryson Ty is almost 7 weeks old! Time goes by so fast, even with interrupted sleep. Brian and I wake up to something new everyday. It may be a sound or two, facial expressions, or just simply how much more our love grows for Bryson and one another.
On a typical day, Bryson still sleeps a lot. He awakes to let me know that, "Mommy, I am hungry again, but please change my diaper first so that I can dirty a new one!" Often, we play a little before or after feedings. He is beginning to smile and giggle a bit. If we poke his cheeks or run our fingers through his hair while making silly noises, he finds that quite amusing. His eyes shut while his mouth smiles, and at the same time, he tries to laugh. This time is fun. We just adore him!
Alright. Let's talk about nights. I would say that we are lucky when it comes to sleeping. There are nights where I get to sleep two hours at a time, and others where I get four to five hour blocks of sleep! I must say, I do thank him for that. But things are not always this perfect. Gas. Oh, let me tell you about gas. If mommy eats the wrong thing, Bryson pays the price. Pregnancy dieting is far easier than the diet a mom needs to have while nursing. Anything from spicy foods(FYI: My favorite), Garlic, Chocolate, Asparagus, and pretty much any food product from the "Green Leaf" family is highly gassy for babies, at least mine anyway. This leads to late nights and/or sleepless nights. We have to remember, we may not be getting sleep, but he is the one in the most pain. So, in this case we push his legs back continuously to help him relieve the gas. Once that is complete, we all may get some comfortable shut eye.
Our little bundle of joy has a lot of hair. As Marissa (a friend) says, "He's like a Chia Pet!" I must agree. Everyday I ponder the question, "Why and how did he come out with so much gorgeous hair?" Many thoughts have crossed our minds, but I believe it was the massive amounts of fruits, veggies, healthy dieting, and the out of this world vitamin packed Pre-Natal pills from our local Natural Foods/Vitamin store that I was taking. A part of me thought that maybe the cost of these pills and what the label read was bogus, but apparently not. As it turns out, we created our very own Chia Pet. It is awesome. After Bryson's bath, he has his own natural "faux hawk." It is the best and he is so handsome!
It is hard to believe how he changes each and everyday. The noises he makes, the different cries, cute little smiles, his giggles, and how he is able to better focus on objects (and his parents of course) is fascinating. It's as if Christmas is everyday. The sound of his voice and his precious smile can make anybody instantly melt! We wake up and wonder whats in store for mommy and daddy...
Niko finally accepted his little human brother (he is our dog) and is becoming very protective. At first he growled and gave him dirty looks. He hid under our bed and would not come out for the first two days. If Bryson was anywhere near, Niko was on the opposite side of the house. Niko does get jealous of the attention that Bryson requires. His favorite thing to do is bark at the door so that he can pottie. This happens as soon as I sit down and get comfortable feeding Bryson. And should I mention, nobody else is here to let him out when he does so. To say the least, we are now a happy little family. Everybody has adapted very well to their new environment.

I must say that I can elaborate on much more. However, it has taken me hours just to write what I have so far. It is now 12:30am and I must try to get this little man to bed. He is denying the fact the he is overly tired and grouchy.
Goodnight all.
