Yep, it's been a LONG time since I've written a post! The monthly pictures sent to friends and family take up what very little free time I have.
Our little man is almost ten months old. Yes, what you're reading is true! It all hit me today, now that Karter (Bryson's friend) turned the BIG 1! It seems like just yesterday Jaimie and Kuper went into labor, and shortly after that, it was our turn. I'm beginning to believe all of the older folks when they warned me that the older you get, the faster time goes. They were right - it flies.
Bryson has an appetite of a garbage disposal. He will pretty much eat anything, including non-food items. He LOVES bananas, pancakes, crackers, apples, and chicken. He likes butternut squash, sweet potatoes, and eggplant. And if he is in the mood, he will even tolerate carrots. Our menu does consist of a lot more food, however, these are the foods that come to mind the quickest. He also has a strange obsession with crawling to the bathroom, grabbing the toilet paper off of the hook, unrolling it, then trying to eat it. I know, I know, it is gross, but at least it's fresh TP! I might add that Niko has a better selection of snacks these days too. I told you Niko, little brothers do have their benefits. ;)
Bryson is right around 20lbs or so. This means that it is about time for Mommy to finish up her research on the next car seat. Decisions, decisions. Bryson is sprouting like a weed. It seems that one day he fits into his favorite outfit or pajama's, then the next day, we can't even squeeze him into those cute little clothes anymore. Our next doctor's appointment will be at his one year mark, so we will get all of the true readings then.
He babbles a lot. Let me list what we can understand:
1.) Dada
2.) Momma
3.) Uh Oh
4.) Dog
5.) Ball
He hisses.
He growls.
He blows spit bubbles.
He gives kisses either with his mouth open or smacking his lips together.
He also likes to breathe in when he gets overly excited and makes a squeal like sound.
And, he loves to show off his six teeth with a very funny grin and squinter eyes...
The list could go on, and on, and on...
Bryson has been very motivated to stand and walk for months now. Each day he attempts to make a few steps, which he does successfully - unassisted. Almost a week ago, he took a good ten steps or so! We were speechless! Yay for little guy! Uhhhh Ohhhh for Mommy and Daddy! ;)
As a parent, I could write a novel about this kid. But, I will keep it light this time. The pictures say enough!
(Also, if you are not on our list to receive Bryson's monthly slide show of pictures, and would like to be, let me know!)
I also apologize for any misspellings or grammatical errors. When I have time to update this blog, I'm usually half asleep. ;) Off to get some shut eye!
